Project Pioneer - TransAlta and Capital Power
TransAlta, with its partner, Capital Power Corporation and Alstom, is developing Project Pioneer. The proposal entails the construction of a large scale carbon dioxide capture and storage facility at the Keephills 3 generating station west of Edmonton, Alberta by 2015. Once complete, Project Pioneer will capture 1 megatonne of CO2 per year.
